Guy Grossi is fabulous at many things including keeping it simple. Sometimes all we want is a bowl of spaghetti with tomato sugo. Cellar Bar understands this. The perfect late night rendezvous, this old school Italian diner’s menu is mostly limited to Italian comfort food. Lasagna, eggplant parmigiana, trippa alla fiorentina and a crumbed veal cutlet are regular features on this friendly little menu. A similarly approachable wine list ensures you have something to swill. Cellar Bar is another example of how you can eat a multi-hatted chef’s food for a fraction of the price. That said, you should promise yourself that one day you will return to the upstairs fine diner and discover Grossi’s true breadth of talent.
