The European is all elegance and old world charm, serving beautiful bistro food to people who have probably loved her for most of their lives. She shucks to order and does a mean cock-a-leekie. The kitchen promotes nose to tail eating – daube of ox cheek with garlic mash, salt roasted chateaubriand with fat chips. Her late night supper is superb, particularly when you start with pate de foie gras and end with the pepper steak and hand cut French fries. The cracking wine list will deliver you to your door deliriously drunk and content. What’s not to love?
Also great if you’re Hungover and Hungry and also does a Lovely Lunch and a super Late Night Eats.
Must try: The pepper steak; the fish soup; the rotolo of roast pumpkin, pinenuts and ricotta
How much? appetisers $8.50-$15; entrees $18-$25; mains $20-$36.50
