Trunk Diner is a canteen-style eatery, with poly plastic walls, burgers and beers. Chirpy and casual, this little guy guarantees good food. Burgers are the go here, 175 grams of freshly ground Wagyu beef, grilled brioche, baby cos, tomato and house-made pickle. Additions include cheese (cheddar, gruyere, or monterey jack cheese), plus caramelised onions, mushrooms and jalapenos. Fresh baguettes (go the Cuban pulled pork with chipotle mayo), salads and melty cheese quesadillas round out the experience. Apple pie, pecan pie and lemon meringue pie seal the deal. The Kirin draught beer flows easy at Trunk and you’ll find yourself kicking back under the heritage listed coral tree, enjoying the relaxed ambience and the surrounding natter of happy punters.
Also great if you’re Hungover and Hungry.
Must try: A Wagyu burger with cheddar and a pint of Kirin
How much? Burgers $10 plus extras; breakfast and lunch $4-$12
